Many of the guests at a bridal shower may not have any connection to each other besides knowing the bride. While there are still would be grooms, who opt to spend the last hours before their wedding partying with alcohol and female exotic dancers, many men are choosing a less traditional route such as camping trips, sporting events, daredevil activities and even co-ed bachelor parties that include the soon to be bride and her friends.
If you choose a very young child or a child that is particularly shy as our flower girl, you may want to consider having their parent accompany them down the aisle so that they are not overwhelmed on the day of the wedding. Another tip for setting a budget and sticking to it is to start saving early for your wedding. Many hobby stores sell a wide variety of attractive artificial flowers that can be arranged by the bride and groom to create attractive centerpieces for the tables.
Once you phone around, you will be able to eliminate caterers who are already booked for your wedding date and who are out of your price range. A rain or overcast day might be cause for concern at a wedding. You may not be able to include all of your young friends or relatives as ring bearers or flower girls but you can give them each a task such as handing out wedding programs or bags of birdseed or placing the favors on the table at the reception.
Once your child has been informed of the wedding plans, discuss the planning with them and ask them how much they would like to be involved. While it may be true that the couple cannot afford one more extravagant gift it is also true that a truly thoughtful gift for the groom does not have to be overly expensive.
